About the role

As a working student at HAMBURG WASSER, you support the team responsible for the electrical power supply of waterworks. The Anlagenbau division covers the planning, modernisation and implementation of technical infrastructure, with a particular focus on EMSR technology: electrical, measurement, control and regulation technology. This technology enables processes to be automated, controlled safely and monitored efficiently. HAMBURG WASSER closes the water cycle from drinking-water supply to wastewater disposal under one roof. Around 2,400 employees at more than 20 locations help keep services running in Hamburg and contribute to water and environmental-protection projects. Openness, appreciation, trust, respectful cooperation and a diverse community are stated as important parts of the organisation.

Your tasks

  • Support the implementation of technical projects in automation/EMSR technology and the electrical power supply of waterworks.
  • Help prepare technical specifications and bills of quantities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including 1-pole diagrams, principle diagrams and block diagrams.
  • Contribute to network calculations and simulations with NEPLAN 10, including static and time-dependent load-flow calculations, short-circuit-current calculations, selectivity checks and protection design.

In practice, the role combines project support with the preparation of technical descriptions, system representations and documented electrical calculations.

What you bring

  • Current enrolment in electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable degree programme.
  • A completed vocational qualification, ideally in a technical field, is an advantage.
  • Interest in EMSR technology and electrical power supply.
  • A structured, careful and reliable way of working.
  • Good spoken and written German.

What HAMBURG WASSER offers

You receive an intellectually demanding role with individual support from the specialist departments, diverse learning and further-training opportunities, and development prospects across the group. Further benefits include health and sports programmes such as Urban Sports Club, a subsidy for the hvv Jobticket and offers related to bicycle mobility. Additional benefits are described on the career website or can be discussed with the recruiting team.
