HAMBURG WASSER brings the water cycle together under one roof, from drinking-water supply to wastewater disposal. With around 2,400 employees and more than 20 locations, it helps keep Hamburg running every day. Together with its subsidiaries, HAMBURG WASSER invests its experience in pioneering water and environmental-protection projects, works to conserve resources and protect the basis of life for future generations in Hamburg, and is characterised by openness, appreciation, trust, respectful and peaceful cooperation, and a diverse community.

Role and technical setting

Plant engineering at HAMBURG WASSER covers the planning, modernisation and realization of technical infrastructure. The focus is EMSR technology: electrical, measurement, control and regulation technology. It enables processes to be automated, controlled safely and monitored efficiently. The work ranges from analysis and technical design through implementation to project support across all service phases. Close cooperation between technical disciplines contributes to robust, modern and sustainable system solutions. EMSR technology is a central element of reliable, future-oriented plant operation. As a working student, you support the team responsible for the electrical energy supply of waterworks and gain practical insight into demanding infrastructure projects.

Your tasks

  • Support the implementation of technical projects in automation and EMSR technology and in the electrical energy supply of waterworks.
  • Contribute to bills of quantities and technical performance descriptions, helping set out the services required for projects.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including 1-line representations and principle and block diagrams.
  • Carry out network calculations and simulations with NEPLAN 10, including static and time-dependent load-flow calculations, short-circuit current calculations, selectivity verification and protection design.

What you bring

You are enrolled in electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable degree programme. A completed vocational qualification, ideally in a technical field, is an advantage. HAMBURG WASSER also asks for an interest in EMSR technology and electrical energy supply, a structured, careful and reliable way of working, and good German skills in speaking and writing.

What is offered

  • A demanding role with individual support from specialist departments, varied learning and further-training opportunities, and development opportunities across the group after your studies.
  • Information and exchange formats, afterworks and modern tools support networking and collaboration.
  • Variable working hours, monetary overtime compensation and the possibility of mobile work depending on the task.
  • Health and sports offers, such as Urban Sports Club.
  • Benefits include a subsidy for the hvv-Jobticket and bicycle-mobility offers. Further benefits are described on the career page and/or by the recruiting team.

This role may be relevant to students enrolled in electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable programme who want practical insight into EMSR technology and the electrical energy supply of waterworks. The source does not state additional student-eligibility conditions. It also does not specify the application route; could HAMBURG WASSER confirm how applications should be submitted?
